André Butzer: Unvollständiges Werkverzeichnis der Druckgrafik Band I: 2001–2022

Since 2003 editor Alexander Linn has closely followed the graphic work of André Butzer.

Drawing on this long engagement marked by detailed knowledge careful research and sustained commitment he now presents the first volume of the catalogue raisonné of the artist’s prints.

Printmaking has been an integral part of Butzer’s œuvre from the beginning. Although closely connected to the development of his painting the prints unfold according to their own formal and technical logic. Central elements of his work his iconic figures distinctive colours and recurring motifs appear here with a clarity that is particular to graphic art.

The range extends from early simple linocuts to more elaborate series using a variety of printmaking techniques and continues through to the refined colour works of recent years.
