BALTHAZAR is missing
A magazine/catalogue with photographic works of Christa Amadea. In her photography, Christa Amnadea plays with intense light and colours, arranging them to create a heightened, dynamic mode of perception.
She juggles with expanded visual approaches, working with a pictorial code rooted in the metaphysical. By fragmenting and splitting the so-called certainties of light she mixes and remixes cultural perceptions in a way akin to strategies commonly employed in popular culture, in particular pop music. Breaking the mould of gendered colours with their powerful conditioning effect is an important part of her artistic work. Christa Amadea’s works have been shown at “Sotheby’s Art link” in New York and Tel Aviv, the Frieze Art Fair in London and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Her works can be found in the art collection of the Austrian government as well as those of private collectors in Germany, Israel, Austria and the United Kingdom. She has been awarded the Award for Fine Arts of the City of Saarbrücken, Germany, and the Sao Paulo/Video Festival Art Award. Language: English / German
