Accompanying the exhibition, the book includes new photographs by Lisa Rastl, historical imagery, and scholarly essays by Rainald Franz, Andreas Lehne, Kathrin Pokorny-Nagel, and Tina Zickler. At its core, the project continues an act of remembrance—tracing surviving examples of the firm’s work and acknowledging the aesthetic contribution the Schwadron family made to Vienna’s urban culture. The company and family, both of Jewish origin, were destroyed under the Nazi regime. This volume forms part of an ongoing, participatory research initiative aimed at re-inscribing these erased histories into the city’s cultural memory.
