Das Buch ist die Dokumentation eines Prozesses der künstlerischen Aneignung von Land seit 2005 durch die Künstlerinnen Katharina Hohmann und Stefan Dornbusch.

Es geht nicht darum, dass die Gedanken, Meinungen und Urteile des einzelnen falsch sein können, sondern einen Teil des einen, sich ständig entwickelnden Spiels der Differenzen bilden, hinsichtlich dessen die Begriffe des Wahren oder Falschen jeden Sinn verlieren.

“The Media Mystery Theater”, borrowed from Hermann Nitsch´s work and press book “Das Orgien Mysterien Theater” documents for the first time the international media activities of the art label, focusing primarily on medial perception and presentation, as well as on art pranks, guerilla media, and fake campaigns.

Dass Judith Mall bei ihrer Arbeit nur die Farben Schwarz und Weiß (das Schwarz des Naturkohlestifts und das Weiß des Papiers) zulässt, ist eine Beschränkung, die sich wunderbar in ihre Arbeit fügt.

I Wait Here For You Forever as Long as It Takes is Stefan Marx' (Schwalmstadt, 1979) first major book and his third appearance in the Nieves catalogue. The book content is a selection from the personal drawing diaries, on which Stefan worked over the last two years, combining some of the finest paper paintings and drawings with book drawings and written notes. The intimacy of the subject matter portrayed in the book is also reflected in the title, chosen for its moody romantic inner meaning, which sums up Stefan working style “going through life writing and drawing down the lowlights.”

Brice Dellsperger's Body Double is the first monograph ever published on the artist's already cult film productions, with a long essay by art historian Marie Canet that addresses filmic remake, but also issues of models, gender politics, and representational chaos.

An early progenitor of the artist's book genre, Warja Honegger-Lavater was born in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1913. She worked as an illustrator for the magazine Jeunesse from 1944-1958, and moved to New York shortly thereafter where she began a wonderful series of artist's books.

The book brings together forty-nine photographs from Korine’s private archive in order to reveal a side of the artist’s creative process that remains largely unexamined. Depicting a mysterious young girl moving through a televised landscape of shifting contexts, Pigxote further illustrates Korine’s interest in replacing plot lines and other narrative tropes with intuitively arranged “experiential moments.” They also provide a unique insight into the poetic mind of Nashville’s most compelling prodigal son.

Playtesting ist eine experimentelle Praxis, die Unerwartetes provoziert und bewusst mit dem Nichtwissen über den Ausgang des Versuchs arbeitet. Mitspielerinnen und Mitspieler, die bereit sind, sich auf das Spiel der Anderen einzulassen, sind dabei unverzichtbar.

Die Ausstellung, die im Oberlichtsaal der Kunsthalle Krems den Fokus auf für diesen Anlass neu konzipierte und realisierte Arbeiten legt, soll durch die Publikation ergänzt werden.

Wake up ist der Name einer Videoarbeit, in der mit Feuerwerkskörpern ein Vulkanausbruch simuliert wird.

"The World According To" series seeks to challenge an artist to work in an unfamiliar way: using any source other than his own work, he develops an idea, a concept, a subject or a vision which can only be realized on 64 blank paper pages.

In seiner ersten großen Einzelausstellung in Österreich stellt der in Berlin lebende Künstler Klaus Weber Arbeiten aus den letzten Jahren, darunter speziell für die Ausstellung konzipierte Werke, vor. Dabei verleiht er dem Hauptraum der Secession den Charakter eines lebendigen Organismus. Licht, Klang und Geruch spielen eine tragende Rolle und verweben die verschiedenen Objekte auf sensuelle Weise mit dem Raum. Beispielhaft dafür steht die neue, als "Zentralorgan" fungierende Arbeit SONNENORGEL. Klaus Weber ließ hierfür auf dem Dach der Secession einen Heliostaten installieren und einige Glasscheiben austauschen, um das Sonnenlicht ungefiltert in den Raum zu schicken und, durch einen Spiegelhaufen gesteuert, die anderen künstlerischen Arbeiten spotlichtartig zu beleuchten. Auf diese Weise holt er nicht nur unsichtbar das Außen in den Innenraum, sondern dekonstruiert damit den white cube der Secession und legt die architektonische Struktur offen.

Taro and Hina Hirano are the founders of No.12 Gallery in Shibuyaku, Tokyo. With contacts made in private life and at work, both in Japan and abroad, they provides an exhibitional space for his friends from various fields of artistic practice.

"In the desert a dream dries up". A headline in the newspaper was the reason to visit the modernistic city of Aktau at the Caspian Sea. Aktau, formerly Schewtschenko, is a Soviet planned city, built in the 60’s to exploit the uranium deposits in the steppe. Now that Kazakhstan is independent the city is being transformed by a European-Asian version of capitalism.

Kader Attia’s much-lauded piece The Repair from Occident to Extra-Occidental Cultures was one of the central works of dOCUMENTA (13) in Kassel.

By the same token, emotionally charged scenes are presented as though they were being reported with a childlike lack of understanding. Situations are not translated, but rendered literally; the artist provides no commentary, but lets the image speak for itself.
