Workbooks present an extensive book that gathers together a creative lifetime of collecting, imagining, sketching and recording by British artist Nigel Shafran from 1984-2024. Below, writer David Chandler reflects on Shafran's Workbooks:

The publication is developed as a reflection on books as archives of touch. Visiting our local public library, the Philipp Schaeffer Bibliothek in Berlin, we checked out a selection of books that caught our attention. Bringing them home, we took photographs of handling and reading the books, which we then printed out and inserted back into the books. Following this, we returned books to the library with these hidden pages added.

As an independent art publisher, Lugemik has mapped a large part of the Estonian contemporary art and design landscape through numerous collaborations with artists, designers, theorists and cultural institutions, resulting in a variety of printed matter.
