The book, designed applying various shades of black, includes the artist’s introduction to his recently completed film Worn Away (2022–23), which is presented at the Secession, sketches and handwritten notes, as well as a selection of video stills. In his essay, Jon Solomon, professor of sinology in Lyon and Paris and a proven expert on the work of Chen Chieh-jen, provides an interesting background analysis to the new film, among other things.
