  • F LETTER
    NEW RUSSIAN FEMINIST POETRY
Galina Rymbu, Oksana Vasyakina, Elena Georgievskaya, …
F LETTER assembles the feminist poets who have palpably changed the Russian language over the last decade. Against the backdrop of state violence and oppression, this is electric dissent in pursuit of a democratic, egalitarian future. A lexicon for revolution worldwide. But this anthology's brilliance lies in its rhythm, energy, and depth of emotion - in its universal relevance rather than applied politics. As Eileen Myles writes of its verse in a foreword to the work, "there are lines like a curse that yodel radiantly out of the toothy mouth of the curser...lines that are just so fucking metonymic in their grace...I've been invited to witness. To smell the crowd and be charged by history."

  • Elements Of Vogue
    Sabel Gavaldon, Manuel Segade (Eds.)
Bodies are agents and products of history. Bodies are history made flesh, but they are also primary tools for understanding the past, present and future. History is a choreographed sequence of gestures that makes bodies intelligible to each other. Every gesture is a link in a chain binding us to gender, race and social class. Gestures solidify into identities. They enact identities that become natural through the systematic repetition of identical gestures. And yet, a pose does more than that. Posing means becoming aware of how a body makes history. “To strike a pose is to pose a threat”, wrote Dick Hebdige referring to the meaning of style in youth subcultures. That’s why it’s important to trace the history of dissident gestures, to trace the genealogy of poses that are bold enough to confront the norm. This modality of performance may be described as radical because it opens up a space for imagining other possible bodies and futures. A radical performance invokes subjectivities for which no name yet exists and social choreographies that are still to come.

    Alexis Penney
Window is Alexis's first full length novel in the form of a truelife vignetted memoire. Accompanied by photos from his voluminous archive, these stories are a full, and blurry, portrait of searching for "true love" in a multitude of disposable romances.

Hendrik Hegray, Jonas Delaborde, Romaric Sobac, …
Started as a xerox zine, a saturated compilation of drawings done by amateurs, musicians or comics authors, Nazi Knife explored, in its more recent issues, some more singular editorial approaches: the publication seen as a library, as a collection of motley elements, where raw materials, symbolic references or cultural products could be combined, or as the visual repetition of few fetishistic obsessions, modulated by an architecture of filters, quite opaque to say the least.
