Retrospektive

In seinen Glasarbeiten, Textinterventionen und Installationen öffnet Leo Zogmayer der Sprache Räume und Flächen, die schlichte Präsenz und äußerste Sinnverdichtung zugleich ermöglichen. So viel wie möglich weglassen, aber in der Platzierung und Gestaltung so sicher, dass das Wort und seine Aura hörbar, sichtbar und lesbar bleiben; das Wenige so lesen, dass das Weggelassene zum Vorschein kommt.

Der Schriftsteller Wystan Hugh Auden lebte von 1958 bis zu seinem Tod 1973 in Wien, während der Sommermonate in Kirchstetten im Wienerwald. Nach seinem Tod erwarb das Land NÖ den in Österreich befindlichen literarischen Teilnachlass und richtete 1995 in seinem Wohnhaus eine Dokumentation zu Auden ein. 2013/14 fand sowohl im Museum als auch im Ort Kirchstetten ein umfangreiches Ausstellungsprojekt statt, das nun durch diese Publikation erweitert wird.

Shawn Serfas grew up exploring the northern reaches of Saskatchewan’s lakes and river systems. Although initially drawn to an academic career in the environmental sciences, Serfas pursued Fine Arts and Art History degrees in Saskatchewan as well as a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Alberta.

Auf den ersten Blick scheint sich Nadim Vardags Kunst dem Kino zuzuwenden: Sie nimmt sich des Prinzips des bewegten Bildes an und sie widmet sich der technisch-materiellen Vorführapparatur des Kinosaals, diesem räumlichen Set aus Projektor, Dunkelraum und Leinwand. Sie ruft es in schlicht „Screen“ genannten Skulpturen, leeren und auf einfache Gerüste montierten Flächen in den klassischen Leinwand-formaten 4:3, 16:9 oder Cinemascope ebenso auf wie in kurzen, aus Filmen extrahierten Loops. Und doch wäre es das ungenügende Ergebnis eines Wunsches nach einfacher, nämlich inhaltlicher und nicht struktureller Erklärung, zu behaupten, das „Thema“ dieser Kunst wäre „das Kino“.

In dieser Werkreihe bricht Roman Pfeffer die strenge grafische Struktur konventioneller Notenblätter auf, indem er einzelne Zeilen herausseziert und zu dynamischen Kompositionen neu zusammenfügt.

ART-O-RAMA, first international art fair in the south of France, has been developing, since 2007, a new format that makes it unique; each booth is considered as an exhibition space whose architectural specificities lie on the gallery’s curatorial proposition for our fair.
