Ein Grund zur Entstehung dieses Buch ist das 30-jährige Jubiläum der Konfrontationen, ein anderer, dass Hans und ich etwa gleichzeitig (im Herbst letzten Jahres) eine ähnliche Idee hatten. Ich glaube, uns schwebte, damals zwar noch unklar, genau dieses Buch vor.

The exhibition project J-Pop/G-Pop organized by Sasaoka Takashi (CAS/Osaka) and Reinhild Kuhn (Kuenstlerhaus Dortmund) investigated questions on everyday's culture in Japan and Germany. Five Japanese and six German artists were invited to present their work in a common group show that was first presented at the Künstlerhaus in Dortmund and subsequently at the CAS in Osaka.

The images shown in this book were obtained from a small set of photos found in Rome, Italy. The set consists of fifty Polaroids portraying dogs of various breeds and sizes, all taken in the beginning of the 90s.
