Mit der legendären Aktion „Umgraben“ des Fluxus-Künstlers Wolf Vostell wird in der Ausstellung ein Werk aus der Kunstgeschichte gezeigt, das sich gut in das Eferdinger Thema einfügt. Vostell lud 1974 dazu ein, einen mit Drähten bespannten Acker in Worpswede umzugraben. Die dabei entstehenden Geräusche zeichnete er per Tonband auf. „Wir stossen beim Umgraben auf unsere Erinnerungen, die Klänge beim Graben sind die Ausstösse unserer Gedanken“, kommentierte Vostell seine Aktion.

Eine Gruppe von Studierenden der Freien Klasse der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien hat sich zusammen getan, um sich Fragen der Kollektivität und Referenzialität zu stellen und diese Arbeit in einem Projekt für das Monat der Fotografie 2012 umzusetzen. Durch die gemeinschaftliche Gestaltung und Selbstorganisation der künstlerischen Hochschulausbildung als strukturelle Intervention entstand das Bedürfnis, diese Ansätze auf die künstlerische Praxis zu übertragen.
