In Costa Rica Time Warp zeigen sich Kinder, denen Ludwig Thalheimer begegnete, als er sich 1986 in Costa Rica aufhielt. Er traf sie an öffentlichen Orten, auf den Straßen, wo sie Zeitungen verkauften, Autos wuschen, in den Verkaufsständen ihrer Eltern mithalfen.

In Wien und Paris galt d’Ora einst als angesehene Porträtistin der Reichen und Mächtigen, der Schönen und Berühmten. Unter dem nationalsozialistischen Regime verlor die Fotografin Familie, Status und Besitz. Diese bittere Erfahrung der Entwurzelung lenkte ihren Blick auf Menschen am Rand der Gesellschaft.

Für ihr Projekt “Indirect Interviews with Women” hat die Karina Nimmerfall im Mass Observation Archive der Universität Sussex recherchiert und Interviews ausgewählt, die im Jahr 1941 – während der Bombardierung Londons – mit Frauen über deren Lebenssituation, ihre Wünsche und Hoffnungen für die Zeit nach dem Krieg geführt wurden.

Mit Blitz und Enzianblau legt Manfred Willmann – nach Schwarz und Gold (Graz 1981) und Das Land (Salzburg 2000) – sein drittes profundes Künstlerbuch vor, aufgebaut aus Arbeiten aus dem Jahr 2005. Konzentrierte Nahsichten, Bilderreihen von Landschaften, Tieren, Pflanzen, Alltagsgegenständen und Porträts werden unterbrochen von Reproduktionen der Rückseite des Agfa-Fotopapiers Sensatis. Willmann hatte von seinen Aufnahmen dieses Jahres mehr als tausend analoge Prints auf diesem Material herstellen lassen, diese aber erst wieder nach etwa zehn Jahren zur Hand genommen und das vorliegende Buch daraus entwickelt.

In February 2016 I was one of the many young adults, to join an international humanitarian network helping refugees stranded in Greece. I followed and worked with numerous groups, Hot Spots and organisations in the 14 months after my first trip there. Functioning as a photographer with my DSLR for charity and press occasions, I relied on an Instant Camera to capture my personal perspective on what I experienced and the connections I made whilst being there.
