Seit dem Jahre 1993 fertigt der niederländische Künstler Marcel van Eeden (*1965) tagtäglich eine Zeichnung an. Dabei interpretiert er Fotografien und Texte aus der Zeit vor 1965, die ihm auf seinen Streifzügen durch Antiquariate, Archive und Bibliotheken zufällig ins Auge fallen.

Eine Annäherung in zwanzig Vignetten zu zwanzig Fotografien.

Die Frage nach dem Material des Kunstwerkes wird gern in den Hintergrund gedrängt. Doch Material ist nicht nur Teil des künstlerischen Prozesses, sondern bestimmt die Handlung des Künstlers und positioniert den Betrachter wesentlich.
