This publication accompanies the exhibition “Cf.” curated by François Aubart at Art et Essai in Rennes, France. Rather than functioning
solely as an exhibition catalogue, the book operates as an extension of the curatorial project, inviting readers to engage with the material beyond the act of reading.
Featuring works by Pierre-Olivier Arnaud, documentation Céline Duval, Aurélien Froment, Mark Geffriaud, and The Infinite Library, the 64-page volume establishes a dialogue between image, text, and conceptual practice. The publication includes twenty-eight removable stickers that encourage readers to intervene directly in the book, blurring the boundaries between artwork, documentation, and participation.
Designed in a compact format of 21.5 × 15 cm and bound in a cloth-covered hardcover, the book combines material precision with playful openness. Full-color printing and the tactile qualities of the binding underscore its dual character as both document and object.
The publication positions itself as an operative tool rather than a passive record. It reflects the exhibition’s interest in referencing, citation, and the circulation of images, while offering a space where readers are invited to reorganize, annotate, or reconfigure the content. In doing so, the book becomes an active site of reflection, archiving, and transformation—an extension of the exhibition that unfolds in the hands of its users.
