The drawings are all made with charcoal on paper, and towels. They vary in their expression from abstract to figurative. The book can be seen as a journal from a state beyond time. three men whose names are inextricably linked by their respective intellectual trajectories, creative processes, and reception histories. Similarities between them abound, and can also be perceived in minute biographical details, accidents, and coincidences. Their well-known penchant for treating aesthetic issues as issues of methodology provided all three of them with the impetus to devote themselves to technical innovations, which is maybe a lesser known aspect of their respective works.

The physical form of the book explored with photographs of reflections, that are positioned with the line of symmetry aligned with the pages binding. The turning of the pages echoes and adds depth to the two dimensional plane of each photo. (ref. the pealing apart of ink blot paintings, Rorschach test cards). The reader is goaded to put stress on the intersection of pages, generating a morphologic change in the shape of the book, producing creases on the spine.
