Isidor Kaufmann (1853–1921) zählt zu den wichtigsten Malern des jüdischen Genrebildes. 1899 richtet er für das vier Jahre zuvor gegründete Jüdische Museum Wien eine sogenannte „Gute Stube“ ein. Die in Israel geborene Künstlerin Maya Zack hat eine Rauminstallation geschaffen, die die zerstörte „Gute Stube“ von Isidor Kaufmann neu interpretiert.

Eine wichtige und auch eigenwillige Position innerhalb der Gattung der Künstlerbücher markiert das Werk von Leiko Ikemura.

Marcel Dzama, Augustin Rebetez und U5 setzen sich mit den heutigen Welt- und Sittenbildern auseinander und schärfen den Blick für die Auswüchse der Gesellschaft.
