Crip Modes
Crip Modes explores social movements around disability across different historical contexts and examines alternative narratives,
strategies of appropriation, and connections between activism and artistic practice. Working from a transdisciplinary perspective related to disability studies, the publication links artistic research with social history and theoretical reflection.
The project also generates discursive formats such as the journal Crip Magazine and other artistic platforms that rethink categories of ability, weakness, and non-conforming bodies.
Eva Egermann (b. 1979) is a Vienna-based artist whose work engages with activist movements and subcultures while critically revisiting political conditions surrounding bodies and ability. She founded Crip Magazine in 2012 and organized the Anti Stigma Crip Convention at Belvedere 21 in 2021.
