Born in 1968 in Tel Aviv Gil Marco Shani lives and works in Israel. He studied at The Slade School of Fine Art in London in 1995 and at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem in 1994.

These hollowed-out and distant images, however, are just a pretext for the creation of a world teeming with urges and paradox, its visuals borrowed from the Orient, its landscapes familiar and its anonymous figures sometimes depicted in private, intimate moments.Neiter fiction nor documentary, the book is finally an attempt at undertaking the political without stone throwing.
