Flaesh brings together works by Marlene Dumas, Tracey Emin, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Kiki Smith, and Louise Bourgeois in a concentrated exploration of

the human body as a site of vulnerability, desire, violence, and transformation. Rather than presenting the body as an idealized form, the exhibition focuses on flesh as material — fragile, wounded, erotic, aging, and marked by experience.

Across painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation, the artists approach corporeality as something unstable and emotionally charged. Flesh appears as surface and depth at once: as skin, tissue, trace, and memory. The works resist fixed identities and instead emphasize states of exposure, fragmentation, and becoming. Sexuality, pain, intimacy, and mortality are not illustrated as narratives, but embodied through material presence and gesture.

Flaesh foregrounds the body as a space of inscription — shaped by personal history, trauma, desire, and time. The exhibition avoids a unified aesthetic and instead allows distinct artistic languages to coexist, linked by an uncompromising engagement with corporeal experience. In doing so, it situates the body not only as an object of representation, but as a critical and affective field in which questions of identity, power, and existence are negotiated.
