FLYING LIKE A BUTTERFLY: a dream machine is a collaborative publication by WIRWIR Publishing in Berlin and Pitzilein Books in Mexico City.
The book brings together 116 dreams, written in several languages and visually interpreted by Pitzilein Books. The project began as an exchange between two cities and two Risograph studios. Dreams collected in Berlin were transmitted to Mexico City, where Manuel Bueno Botello, Santiago Marín, Idalia Sautto and Ricardo Iluhi Magaña translated them into graphic forms. The resulting images respond directly to the often unstable, fragmented and difficult-to-describe logic of dreams.
Printed on Risograph machines in Berlin and Mexico City, the publication forms a collective catalogue of dreams and their visual interpretations. It documents an experimental process in which language, image, distance and immediacy become part of the same dream machine.
