Franz Graf is an Austrian artist known for his diverse work in the fields of drawing, painting, photography and installation. Franz Graf, born on July 22, 1954 in Vienna, is an Austrian artist and painter. He studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Oswald Oberhuber and deepened his training in Arnulf Rainer's studio. He has worked as a freelance artist since 1979 and has collaborated closely with colleagues such as Brigitte Kowanz, Herbert Brandl and Otto Zitko.

Graf taught in Reykjavik, among other places, and held a guest professorship at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1997 to 2006. His work is characterized by the central role of drawing, often in combination with photography and installations. He integrates both abstract and figurative elements as well as language into his works. He has also created murals for buildings by architects such as Günther Domenig and Gregor Eichinger. In public space, for example, his installation "SUED" can be seen in the Passage Hauptbahnhof/Südtiroler Platz in Vienna.
