Gabriel Orozco. Natural Motion

€ 73.00

Gabriel Orozco works across sculpture, photography, drawing, and installation, engaging materials, forms, and situations drawn from everyday life.

He shifts the functions and meanings of objects, guided by the conviction that everything is in motion and holds the potential to become something else. This book traces that approach through key bodies of work: Dark Wave, his intervention in an enormous whale skeleton; a comprehensive selection of his ongoing terracotta series; recently carved river stones; and new works developed especially for Kunsthaus Bregenz. Produced in the context of his solo exhibition there, the publication brings together images and essays that illuminate Orozco’s method across media—between intervention and observation, play and exacting structure. Contributions by Jean-Pierre Criqui, Pablo Soler Frost, María Minera, and André Rottmann examine the inner dynamics of the oeuvre and the diversity of its formats, while Yilmaz Dziewior’s essay sheds particular light on the exhibition’s conceptual background.
