Giacometti and The Fox

When the artist Alberto Giacometti is unable to return to Paris after a trip to Switzerland during the Second World War,

his brother Diego looks after their shared studio on his own. A neighbour gives Diego, an animal lover, a tame vixen as a gift. It is love at first sight.

Diego named the vixen Mademoiselle Rose. Diego and Mademoiselle Rose kept each other company during the difficult war years and became friends. Until Alberto returned after the war ended. To this day, no one knows whether Alberto left the door from the courtyard to the street open on purpose.
