Jenisch Feu
Jenisch-Feu – Third Variation is a publication documenting a series of paintings by artists Thomas Koenig and Vianney Fivel.
It marks the third part of an ongoing project realized in various formats and locations. The first intervention took place on 11 May 2013 in a municipal gymnasium opposite the Musée Jenisch in Vevey, during the region’s annual museum open night. The second iteration followed in autumn 2013 in Paris, as part of the group exhibition L’Atelier des Testeurs at Chalet Society—an experimental setting that treated exhibition-making as a process of testing and redefinition.
Thomas Koenig, born in 1983 in Vevey, studied at ECAL in Lausanne and HEAD in Geneva. His abstract works emerge from drawing as a tool for thinking, where the gesture becomes a reflection on how art is made. His practice often responds to site and context, questioning the conditions under which art takes form. Vianney Fivel works in a collaborative mode inspired by the “feat.” principle from music—treating authorship as relational rather than singular. His projects explore communication within unstable systems and highlight the social dimensions of artistic practice. Rather than presenting painting as a static object, Jenisch-Feu frames it as part of an ongoing exchange—between artists, spaces, and the institutional settings in which meaning is negotiated.
