Spanning 492 pages, this volume offers an in-depth exploration of Le Parc’s intellectual and creative process, delving into his prolific body of work and vision.
Featuring a critical anthology from 1967 onwards, an introductory essay by Jean de Loisy, and a dedicated section on Le Parc’s writings, the monograph includes over 600 color plates. It journeys through key phases of his career, from the formative "Before Paris" period to the Surfaces and Color Surfaces stages, before examining his work in Contortions, Light, Installations, Games, Alchemies, and his Virtual Museum.
An extensive photo-biography further illuminates Le Parc's artistic evolution, complemented by an anthology of texts from figures such as Mario Benedetti, Alberto Biasi, Jorge Romero Brest, Jean Clay, Gérard Fromanger, and Pablo Neruda, among others.
Born in Mendoza, Argentina, in 1928, Julio Le Parc studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, under Lucio Fontana, before moving to Paris in 1958, where he continues to live and work.
