Lubok 8 is part of the ongoing Lubok series, an artist-run publishing project devoted to contemporary relief printmaking.

The volume brings together original works created specifically for the book, using techniques such as woodcut and linocut. There are no reproductions—each page is an original print pulled directly from the artists’ matrices.

The publication foregrounds materiality and process. Paper, ink, pressure, and seriality determine the rhythm of the book, while sequencing functions as a curatorial tool that sets distinct artistic positions into dialogue. Edited by Christoph Ruckhäberle and Thomas Siemon, Lubok 8 treats the book as an exhibition format in its own right and affirms printmaking as a collaborative, experimental practice where tradition and contemporary image-making intersect.
