This publication documents the memorial erected in 2017 at the former Aspang Railway Station in Vienna, from which more than 47,000 Jewish men, women, and children were deported between 1939 and 1942.
The book combines historical essays on the deportations with reflections on the conception and realization of the memorial by the artist duo PRINZpod. It includes photographic documentation of the concrete structures installed in today’s Leon-Zelman-Park and situates the project within the broader discourse of Holocaust remembrance and public space in Vienna.
The bilingual format underscores the international relevance of the site and positions the memorial within contemporary debates on memory culture, urban history, and artistic intervention in public space.
