Mecca functions as a critical platform that reflects on Crédac’s curatorial concerns through analysis, commentary,

and close engagement with the artists’ work. Rather than following a chronological logic, the publication operates through re-reading and memory, revisiting past exhibitions as active material for interpretation and recontextualization. In this way, Mecca extends Crédac’s program beyond documentation, treating exhibitions as evolving fields of meaning.

Mecca 03, now out of print, brings together visual material from exhibitions by Bojan Šarčević and Pierre Vadi, while simultaneously opening up a speculative space for future production. The issue proposes an expanded curatorial framework conceived as a form of extended carte blanche, inviting artists to engage directly with the conditions, formats, and assumptions of exhibition-making itself.

Within this context, Dove Allouche, Leonor Antunes, and Stéphane Calais respond to the nature of artistic work as such, developing new contributions that reflect on materiality, spatial articulation, and the status of the artwork within an institutional framework. Mecca 03 thus positions itself less as a record of past activity than as an active site of production, reflection, and anticipation.
