Miro Artigas - Catalogue Raisonne - Ceramics

The catalogue raisonné of Miró’s ceramic works marks the continuation of the comprehensive documentation of his oeuvre: following the four-volume catalogue of his graphic work, the six volumes dedicated to his paintings, and the volume on his sculpture.

This new publication, edited by Joan Punyet Miró and Joan Gardy Artigas, is presented as a single volume in English and includes 570 reproductions—most in color—of the artist’s complete ceramic production.

The book spans Miró’s ceramic output from his first hand-painted vases in 1941 to the monumental mural works of his later years, completed in 1981. Each piece, made exclusively in stoneware or clay and fired in wood-burning kilns, is documented in detail. The entries include title, date, technique, materials, dimensions, signature information, ownership, provenance, major exhibitions, and key bibliographic references.

This volume offers a definitive and richly illustrated overview of an essential yet often lesser-known aspect of Joan Miró’s artistic practice—his unique contribution to modern ceramic art.
