This work belongs to Lara Favaretto’s Momentary Monument series, a body of projects exploring ephemerality, instability,

and the provisional character of monuments. Rather than affirming permanence or heroic commemoration, the project focuses on processes of disappearance, material transformation, and the fragile conditions of cultural memory.

The notion of the “swamp” functions both literally and metaphorically as a space of sedimentation, obscured visibility, and continuous change. It suggests environments in which historical traces, material processes, and shifting meanings intersect. Documentation of the project therefore reflects not a stable monument but a temporary situation shaped by time, decay, and perception.
