This publication is centered on a body of work in which Nancy Spero’s characteristic way of working becomes especially clear.

Rather than treating the image as a single, fixed composition, Spero developed works through repetition, fragmentation, and recombination. Printed figures, signs, and motifs are transferred, repeated, and set into sequence across the surface, creating works that unfold less as isolated pictures than as extended visual fields. In this sense, the publication reflects an artistic practice built on seriality, displacement, and the tension between image, text, and spatial presentation.

The title Wall Printing Project points directly to this method. It refers to a form of working in which printing is not confined to the page but expanded onto the wall, allowing the printed image to operate architecturally and rhythmically across space. The catalogue therefore relates to a project in which wall printing is not simply a technique, but a structural principle: images are distributed, reiterated, and activated through their placement and relation to one another.

Conceived as a focused catalogue rather than a general overview, the publication documents this specific project in book form and includes an essay by Susan Harris. It was published in connection with Nancy Spero – Wall Printing Project at Malmö Konsthall, Malmö, in 1994.
