Narcolepsy
Narcolepsy presents a sequence of photographs by Australian photographer Max Pam that reflect his long-standing engagement with travel, memory, and the subjective experience of place.
Working across different regions of the world, Pam developed a highly personal photographic language in which documentary observation merges with autobiographical reflection.
The images in the book unfold like fragments of a visual diary. Landscapes, encounters, and fleeting moments are assembled into a loose narrative structure that moves between travelogue and introspective meditation. Rather than offering a conventional documentary account, Pam’s photographs evoke the shifting states of perception and memory that accompany life on the road. With an essay by Robert Cook, Narcolepsy situates Pam’s work within a broader photographic discourse while emphasizing the intimate and reflective character of his practice.
