RÄUMLICHE HANDLUNGEN / SPATIAL PRACTICES
Irmi Peer is a performance artist, a teacher and researcher applying both theoretical and artistic approaches in architecture and gender studies.
A loose collection of objects, or evidence, refers to a series of spatial practices. They are experimental arrangements in the form of performances and installations which have taken place in the context of Irmi Peer’s dissertation Performance zuhause—Untersuchung zu performativer Raumproduktion und dem sozialräumlichen Phänomen ‘Hausfrau’ anhand von Positionen aus Architektur und Bildender Kunst 1926-1982 (Performance at home—an investigation into performative production of space and the socio-spatial phenomenon ‘house wife’, as a part of architecture and the visual arts 1926-1982), in private and public spaces, or in remote mountain locations.
