The Austrian artist Lois Weinberger, who participated in documenta in 1997 and 2017 and in the Venice Biennale in 2009, realized two large installations for the Kunststiftung NOW Esterhazy Contemporary:

the project FELDWEG, which invites visitors on a poetic journey through the Renaissance garden of Schloss Lackenbach, and the sculptural presentation BASICS on the grand staircase of Schloss Esterházy in Eisenstadt, consisting of small, golem-like figures made from malleable mud and pieces of wood. Following Weinberger’s unexpected death in April 2020, these installations became the artist’s final major works.

The publication documents both projects and presents a cycle of Weinberger’s poetic texts. Essays by Severin Dünser, Michael Hausenblas, and the curator Vitus Weh provide further context for the work of an artist whose political relevance remains strikingly актуal today.
