Resonation
Rare BookIn the search for new ways of experiencing sound, this book describes a path from music to the visual arts.
It contains original excerpts from photograms and carbon paper drawings whose form has been shaped by sounds and vibrations. These works explore the relationship between seeing and hearing and show why turning to sound can also mean turning away from music.
This book was also part of the exhibition “Sound and Books”, which was conceived and realized by Bernhard Cella for the Salon für Kunstbuch at Belvedere 21. Using publications, sound recordings and documents, the exhibition shed light on acoustic thinking in art and presented works that addressed the relationship between sound and visual art and opened up new perspectives on the interactions between these two areas.
The edition contains original excerpts from photograms and carbon paper drawings whose form was created by sounds, by vibrations. They show the relationship between seeing and hearing and why turning to sound can mean turning away from music.
