Petrov, who was born in the Ukraine and raised in Bulgaria, studied fashion at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and benefitted from the high profile roster of tutors including Viktor & Rolf and Raf Simons.

The principles of Viennese modernism, quality materials and purist forms had a profound influence on the designer’s work. The book shows his collection 'beauty of the beast' for the summer of 2006.

"every adult is an individual product of his or her unaccomplished work up of the past, and in the end nothing else but a living compromise, with all it’s beastly and sadistic tendencies. being aware of death transforms us to living dead. desperately we perceive our world, our way of living as beautiful, because there is nothing else to perceive. it is about the impression of how life is changing, about contrast and way of living. only to be accepted through good and bad, black and white. life is transformation - it’s autumn beauty, terrible beauty or the beauty of the beast"
