The Catalogue of Manmade Objects on the Moon

The Catalogue of Manmade Objects on the Moon is an inventory of human-made objects left on the lunar surface.

Based on NASA’s official Catalogue of Manmade Material on the Moon and Wikipedia’s List of artificial objects on the Moon, Telma Lannoo selects from an inventory of more than 796 objects, including scientific and technical equipment as well as everyday disposable items such as tissues and urine bags.

Through a series of drawings, the publication translates this material record of lunar exploration into an artist’s book. The project moves between a fascination with scientific exploration and a concern with the colonization of space.

The drawings were made in acrylic ink on paper in 2023. The first edition appeared in 2024; this revised and expanded second edition was published in 2025 in an edition of 25 signed and numbered copies.
