The Rape of Creativity
Authenticity and the creative act are central themes of this exhibition of work by Jake and Dinos Chapman. This exhibition included 80 of Goya’s Disasters of War etchings, the originals drawn on by the brothers and re-named Insult to Injury and an installation called The Rape of Creativity, featuring an old camper van as its centrepiece.
The majority of the catalogue is devoted to candid snap-shots of Jake and Dinos Chapman’s 2003 exhibition, The Rape of Creativity. The photographs provide the feel and atmosphere of the exhibition. The catalogue also contains two essays: Instructions for Use by artist and writer Neal Brown, and The Unbearable Lightness of Meaning by exhibition curator Suzanne Cotter. Language: English
