War postdigital besser?

€ 47.00

The term “post-digital” has been under discussion for several years.

Central to this debate is the question of the extent to which the digital is no longer perceived as new, thereby opening up a revised perspective on the distinction between analog and digital media. Within discussions on the design of print media, interfaces, and publishing concepts, this shift in perspective enables new approaches and critical frameworks.

For graphic design, this media transformation toward the “post-digital” does not represent a crisis. Rather, graphic design has the capacity to shape the current transition and to render it visible and tangible. The publication examines the implications of the post-digital condition for design practice and explores how it may be understood and applied as a future-oriented model for creative processes.

Renowned authors contribute essays addressing different aspects of the post-digital field, complemented by design works developed by students. The publication is based on the seminar “Postdigital ist besser” (“Postdigital is Better”), organized in 2012/2013 by Franziska Morlok and Martin Conrads within the Visual Communication program at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin), as well as the subsequent exhibition at Galerie designtransfer (UdK Berlin).
