About WHAT THE SHOP
WHAT THE SHOP is an exploration of the shop spaces that are around us, on the streets in our towns. It is an exploration as well as a comment to art as a commodity, as something that can be sold and bought. This is done through a social sculpture which reflect these questions. The architectural space which is provided constitutes the scene for the social sculpture. The artists, authors, poets and other people within this scene provide its building parts, which are the bonds that take place between these people. As well as the products of these bonds in form of art.

What the shop is a project about the exploration of the spatial space, not only in the architectural, physical meaning, but also on a philosophical, theoretical level. It questions our time as well as our definitions of art and also in a sense the definitions of an artist.
