This publication is another extension of Yanks research, elaborating further on the seemingly contradictory and estranging concept of “community of absence”. It is not a catalouge or artists monograph in the traditional sense, as its ambition is not to represent the exhibition at BAK or a specific series of works, but rather to map the trajectory and movement towards a new community to come as envisioned in her work. Yang actively engages other cultural practioniers in her research - in this way, she creates a community of her own.
