There is a long tradition for artists placing works, images, texts and projects in magazines and newspapers.

The publication brings together extensive material from Hamlet, mise-en-scène presented at Portikus, along with recently restored as well as never-published stills, drawings, and writings by American filmmaker and artist Jack Smith, related to his film Hamlet in the Rented World

THE EXHIBITION took place over a period of four weeks at KIT – Kunst im Tunnel, Düsseldorf. During this time, the space was continuously transformed; works were installed, dismantled, and documented.

Dreaming the Mainstream: Tales of Yankee Power discusses the history of publishing and the "activist fiction" or "realometer" during the 20th century paperback revolution. Mark von Schlegell's essays and stories appear regularly in magazines and books the world over. His novels are published in English by M.I.T./Semiotext(e) and in German by Matthes & Seitz, Berlin. He currently teaches the Pure Fiction Seminar at Staedelschule, Frankfurt.

Rehousing is the title of a series of works by Peter Friedl which comprises a selection of individual, intricate, and true-to-scale models of houses. Collectively, these structures materialize as constructed environments that reflect the recent past, different biographies, and ideologies in diverse ways; they are “case studies for the mental geography of an alternative modernity.”
