Mathias Polednas Ausstellung im österreichischen Pavillon der Biennale wird von einem bebilderten Katalog in englischer und deutscher Sprache begleitet, der von Mathias Poledna und der Grafikerin Martha Stutteregger gestaltet wurde. The exhibition "Archaeologies of the future" brings together some of the latest work by five artists - Martin Beck, Carol Bove, Dora García, Mathias Poledna, Pia Rönicke - who have adopted different angles of vision in their work but who share the same conceptual approach, the identification or recognition of the aesthetic of the just-past presented as a historicized advocation of time.

At the core of this publication is a 16mm film sequence by Mathias Poledna, portraying a fictional band during rehearsal. Rather than documenting reality, the film meticulously stages a moment that exemplifies the ephemeral aesthetics of late 20th-century popular culture.

Neben der Auseinandersetzung mit Animationen verarbeitet Imitation of Life auch andere Elemente aus der frühen Unterhaltungsgeschichte, von Varieté, Stummfilmkomödien bis hin zu Filmmusicals in seiner flüchtigen Szenenfolge und bedient sich zugleich verschiedener künstlerischen Formen zwischen Film, Musik, Malerei und Literatur.

Poor Man's Expression examines the relationship between film, video, technology, and art, with a particular focus on the reciprocal influences between conceptual art and experimental film. The publication is based on the eponymous exhibition in Berlin in 2006, but represents an independent compendium of texts and images beyond the show.

Sharawadgi geht auf die gleichnamige Ausstellung internationaler zeitgenössischer Kunst zurück, die vom 18. Oktober bis 20. Dezember 1998 in der Felsenvilla in Baden bei Wien stattfand.
