Soundscreen Design is curating an ongoing, limited edition small book series, focusing on the inseparable connection between music and art. Each month, a visual artist or musician will be asked to create a 24-page book of artworks, drawing inspiration from their connection to music. The different ways in which each artist chooses to represent their connection to music is what makes this ongoing series so intriguing and diverse.

It’s rare that an art monograph attains the status of a work of art in its own right. Francis Upritchard’s Human Problems might be just such a book. It’s not a doorstopper and it’s not full of pontificating essays. It doesn’t even offer a biography of the artist. Instead, Human Problems is an exceptionally unified production in which the designer and the author have matched and magnified the quirks of the artist.

Initiated in 1994, the Curatorial Programme of de Appel arts centre aims to offer young curators a condensed package of experiences and skills that can be seen as instruments to enhance the development of their professional career.

Edited by Bettina A.W. Funcke, Continuous Project #8 is the final "issue" within the series, also with #8 "Continuous Project" will become know as "Consultants."

What role do visual arts and museums play in our society, and what role might they play

The topic featured in this issue of Landscape is test sites. It emerged from our work in the High Desert of California where time seems to lose meaning. Geologists refer to it as the stratified landscape of deep time, exposing human experience amd interaction as comparatively short lived and fast paced.

The Exhibitionist is a journal focusing solely on the practice of exhibition making. Its objectives are to create a wider platform for the discussion of curatorial concerns, encourage a diversification of curatorial models, and actively contribute to the formation of a theory of curating.

When I was traveling throughout Germany, I met a lot of German people whose ancestors had emigrated to the Baltic or Caucasus region. And so, I become interested in the roots of German culture and how it has spread to other countries. Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, was the center that connected European, Russian, Middle Eastern and Asian cultures. In fact I have personally found a lot of traces and evidence of these cultures in Georgia.
