„Andres Ramirez Gaviria’s art resolutely depicts life in a coded world.

The first publication to focus exclusively on the artist's work from the early to mid-1980s, the period during which the artist first became well-known. At the time Winters was among a few pioneers to embrace a painterly style, in reaction to the prevailing minimalism of the previous decade, reviving an interest in a rich surface and organic form and thus heralding the return of painting to the international art world.

"Against What? Against Whom?" is a monograph about the author, film maker and video artist Harun Farocki. Its the first book about Farocki that is neither a purely academic publication nor an exhibition catalogue.

I spent more than two months alone on a bicycle, travelling along the perimeter of the Italian peninsula, and then two weeks cycling around Sardinia. I put together hundreds of images of horizons which, day after day, came to form a chromatic stave of seas and skies. Finally, from the confines of my studio, image after image, I pieced back together a fair part of the Italian skyline. (A.R.)

The Automaton is based on a story told to Paolo Ventura as a child. It centres on an elderly, Jewish watchmaker living in the Venice ghetto in 1943, one of the darkest periods of the Nazi occupation and the rule of the fascist regime in Italy. The city where the watchmaker has lived his entire life, now desolate and fearful, is the stage on which the story unfolds. The old man decides to build an automaton (a robot), to keep him company while he awaits the arrival of the fascist police who will deport the last of the remaining Jews from the ghetto.

As a narrative that takes the format of a video projection and a fotonovela, Once upon a time... concentrates
on the story of Nieding and Hendrikje Wolters, ex-travellers who became notorious in the North of the Netherlands
after publishing a book about their own lives, ranging from criminal convictions to evangelic belief .

Street Talk is the record of a project by conceptual artist Stephen Willats in which he filmed (unbeknownst to them) passers-by walking down two streets in Amsterdam.
