Seit 2009 fotografiert der aus der Ukraine stammende und nun in Wien lebende Fotograf Anatoliy Babiychuk regelmäßig bei seinen Besuchen in Horaivka, einem kleinen Ort in der Mittelukraine. Das Interesse des Fotografen gilt dabei den Bewohnern in ihrem einfachen Alltagsleben, das sich in der archaischen Struktur des dörflichen Lebens, im Kindergarten, der Grundschule, in einer Postfiliale, zwei kleinen Geschäften, einem Dorfklub und einer Erste-Hilfe-Station abspielt.

Sonic Playground was designed and published on location during a 3-hour SPEELPLAATS workshop at the Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem, Netherlands. Log presents Ray's life-size sculpture of a fallen log he discovered by the side of the highway in California. After visiting the log many times, Ray decided to move the log in pieces to his studio, where he made molds of the log and produced a fiberglass replica of it. Eventually, he sent the fiberglass replica to Japan where a master woodworker and his apprentices carved the final wooden sculpture out of Japanese cypress.
