Foreign words, paper, photos, colors, ashes, organic matter: two artists mix images and texts – shapes and words. Animals and humans meet, undergo metamorphoses and establish strange connections, as elastic and intimate as membranes.

We see women looking at art, everything an exhibition has to offer: paintings, sculptures, installations. If we’re women, then one could say they’re women looking at women looking at art.

What is the color of Milk? Is it white? Or almost white? The images in this book show forty colors of human milk. They have been drawn from found footage images representing breast milk and human milk.

Maria Bussmann's preferred medium is drawing and the drawing pencil. The starting point for this artist's book was an original drawing that she drew in pencil on a 21 x 1000 cm roll of fax paper in her studio in Vienna. The hand-bound artist's book was produced in 2012 in an edition of 100 copies.
