Beide Künstlerpersönlichkeiten zollten einander gegenseitig großen Respekt. Aufgeschlossen verfolgte Wotruba die Kunst seiner Zeit und unterstützte durch seine Kenntnis innovative künstlerische Konzepte, die er auch in seine klassisch moderne Haltung zur Skulptur zu integrieren wusste.

Wiesbaden gilt als Geburtsort von Fluxus, einer "fließenden" , offenen und damals revolutionären Kunstform, die 1962 nach der ersten spektakulären Fluxus-Performance im Rahmen der Festspiele Neuester Musik im Vortragssaal des Museums weltweit in der Musik, Bildenden Kunst, Film und Theater unaufhaltsam ihren Einzug hielt.
