Das Buch bietet einen umfassenden Überblick über das Werk Franz Gassners aus den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten. Franz Gassners Bildkompositionen suchen die farbliche und formale Reduktion, arbeiten mit rhythmisch verwobenen Zeichen auf meist monochromem Grund und fügen sich zu großen, thematisch gefassten Werkzyklen.

In Het Licht (2011-2012), Susanne Kriemann deals with the disappearance of a specific site: the Art Deco building ‘Het Licht’ (The Light), a former newspaper printing workshop in Ghent.

It invites us to reflect critically on asylum and refugee status, while introducing us to the human and legal situation of people experiencing this condition.
