Was bedeutet es für das Selbstverständnis der Malerei, als sich im 19. Jahrhundert die Photographie in das Feld der Bildtechniken drängt? Seit über 20 Jahren hat Johannes Zahlten als Kunstwissenschaftler an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig gelehrt und die entscheidende Entwicklung seines Faches von einer künstlerischen Begleitwissenschaft zu einem eigenständigen Studiengang mitgetragen und befördert. Als Autorität auf seinem Lehrgebiet, das sich vom frühen Mittelalter bis zur Zeit des Rokoko erstreckte, infizierte Zahlten Studierende und Lehrende mit seinem Wissen und seiner Begeisterung für die Kunstpraxis der „Alten Meister“, die er wie kein anderer in Seminaren, Vorlesungen und Gesprächen vergegenwärtigte.

In a society under the reformed 'Real-Time' Calendar, without history nor future, everybody is faceless. A woman panics when she wakes up one day with a face. With the help of the Spectral Children she slowly finds out more about the lost power and history of the human face and begins the search for its future.
