Mierle Laderman Ukeles's manifesto ''Maintenance Art--Proposal for an Exhibition'' (1969) was a major intervention in feminist performance practices and public art. The proposal argued for an intimate relationship between creative production in the public sphere and domestic labor--a relationship whose intricacies Ukeles has been unraveling ever since. In 1977, she became the unsalaried Artist-in-Residence for the New York City Department of Sanitation, a position that enables her to introduce radical public art into an urban municipal infrastructure.

Exploring African influences on modernist avant-gardes, Saâdane Afif (born 1970) riffs on André Breton's anthology of the same name for this catalogue accompanying his show at MMK Zollamt. For the show, Afif built a coffin based on a Ghanian memento mori, and invited artists and critics to respond.

The physical form of the book explored with photographs of reflections, that are positioned with the line of symmetry aligned with the pages binding. The turning of the pages echoes and adds depth to the two dimensional plane of each photo. (ref. the pealing apart of ink blot paintings, Rorschach test cards). The reader is goaded to put stress on the intersection of pages, generating a morphologic change in the shape of the book, producing creases on the spine.

Im Jahr 1932 errichtet der junge Marcel Breuer sein architektonisches Erstlingswerk: ein Wohnhaus für die Familie Harnischmacher in Wiesbaden. Nach dem Krieg baut der mittlerweile in den USA lebende Architekt nur wenige Meter vom ursprünglichen Bau entfernt für dieselbe Familie ein neues Domizil: Haus Harnischmacher II. Anders als sein Vorgängerbau bleibt dieses Projekt, das einzige bis heute erhaltene Wohnhaus Marcel Breuers in Deutschland, weitgehend unbeachtet.
